Today, I hit three milestones: I finish work at Bridgespan, I pack up a bag for my first foray into the world of solo traveling, and (most importantly!) I start a blog. The middle one has me most nervous, in a good way. But starting a blog is itself a little intimidating!
On Sunday, I hop on a plane to Guatemala City. From there, it's off to Xexa (also known as Quetzaltenango) where I'll spend three weeks studying spanish and traveling on the weekends. And from there... somehow, I'll find a way to Nicaragua.
Wish me a buen viaje, check back often for updates, and leave lots of comments. Hasta pronto, mis amigos!
Matt

Que tengas un buen viaje, amiguito mio. Y que no olvides a tus amigos de trabajo en Boston, especialmente los mejores de la novena piso.
Ciao y adios! Que te vaya muy bien in my paiz, Guatemala con los Chapinos!

Via con dios - watch your back, and have a great experience.
Call soon and let me know how you're doing-
Dad
I am sad to see you leave, but confident that you'll shake up Central American just as much as you did Massachusetts (all for the better, of course). We look forward to your return to New England!
Have a fabulous time, you solo traveler, you. The 9th floor is oh so quiet and boring without you.
Hey Matt! Come see us in Santiago (on beautiful Lake Atitlan) for a weekend while you're in Xela! We'd love to have you.....
Best,
Heidi
